This gallery showcases some of my Venetian plastering and remodeling experiments. I love learning new skills and have a great respect for the quality evident in traditional wall finishes (I love the earthy, ‘simple’, environmentally-friendly aspect of it as well). I decided to tear down the drywall in my circa 1910 bathroom and figured I’d practice mixing and applying traditional haired plaster to the lathe . The top coat is a mix of marble dust, lime, and mica (for bling) finished with olive oil soap and bee’s wax. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out and I learned alot in the process.
